Norwegian goods in transit (NVIT)

Due to new EU requirements, more information will be needed for Norwegian goods in transit (NVIT) from March 31 2026.

As described in our information page, customers can choose between the following approaches:

  1. Provide NVIT information for all domestic shipments and shipments to or from Norway.
  2. Provide NVIT information only for the postal code and country combinations where it is required. Refer to the linked information page above for the complete list.

NVIT information is not required when customs information is already being provided for the shipment, for example in a VOEC scenario.

To provide NVIT information in a booking request, set the type field on customsInformation to NVIT. The NVIT type cannot currently be used for shipments that require a regular export customs declaration. For those shipments, standard customs information must be provided instead.
