Exports from Norway
The Booking API supports submission of customs information as part of the booking request for the following services from Norway to destinations abroad:
- Business Parcel (0330)
- PickUp Parcel (0340)
- Letter Packet (3639)
For other export services from Norway, the shipment must first be created through the Booking API. Customs information can then be submitted separately through the Customs API.
Consent requirement for customs declaration
For exports from Norway, the sender is required to provide explicit consent confirming that:
- The customs information provided is accurate and complete.
- The consignment does not contain any dangerous or prohibited goods.
This consent is mandatory for booking and ensures compliance with customs regulations as well as the secure processing of international shipments. Bookings cannot be completed unless consent is provided.
The sender’s consent is represented by the consent property on customsInformation. When applicable, this value is printed
as a digital signature on the CN23 label or customs declaration. See the example CN23 label below.

IOSS (Import One-Stop Shop)
Using IOSS for exports from Norway to the EU
The ioss element of customsInformation can be used to provide an IOSS number for exports from Norway to EU countries.
This is only supported when natureOfCargo is of type SALE_OF_GOODS.
The ioss element cannot be used together with the reference field on the sender party. See the
booking example and read more about IOSS
here.
New requirements for IOSS shipments to selected EU countries
Due to new EU customs regulations, shipments from companies outside the EU to private consumers (B2C) in certain EU countries are subject to additional customs payment requirements. This affects shipments of services Letter Packet (3639) and PickUp Parcel (0340) with IOSS to the following countries:
- Belgium
- Czech Republic
- Denmark
- Finland
- France
- Germany
- Luxembourg
- Portugal
For these shipments, we recommend using the solution available on posten.no, where customs duties are handled as part of the booking process. For more information, see the EU customs information page on bring.no.
Product identifiers (PID)
To comply with new EU customs regulations, product identifiers (PIDs) must be provided from November 1 2026 for goods sold to consumers (B2C) in shipments valued at €150 or less. Shipments that do not include the required product identifiers will be returned.
This applies to exports from Norway to the EU for the following services:
- Business Parcel (0330)
- PickUp Parcel (0340)
- Letter Packet (3639)
Product identifiers can be specified using the productIdentifiers element for each customs declaration line in customsInformation.
| Field | EU TARIC code | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|---|
merchant |
C127 | The product ID from the online store or marketplace | Amazon ASIN or Shopify product ID |
nonStandard |
C128 | The manufacturer’s own product code | TSHIRT-CLASSIC-BLACK-L |
standard |
C129 | An internationally recognised product number | EAN, GTIN, UPC or ISBN |
All fields are optional, and each value may contain up to 40 characters.
If a customs line includes merchant or nonStandard, but not standard, Bring automatically submits code Y081 (NA)
to indicate that no standardised product identifier is available. In this case, there is no need to provide the value explicitly.
For all other services and country combinations, productIdentifiers is ignored.
