Booking API – Registered letter services

3 February 2026

It is now possible to book registered letters using the booking-api. For more information please see the detailed documentation for letter services

Booking API – Home mailbox parcel (3584) & Home mailbox parcel RFID (3570) – Change of default fallback delivery

21 January 2026 Important

From 26.01.2026, the default fallback behaviour for Home mailbox parcel will change.

If the shipment does not fit in the recipient’s mailbox, the parcel will by default be left outside the recipient’s door.

Previously, the default fallback was delivery to pickup point.

What this means for you

VAS 1081 (Delivery outside the door) is no longer required in the request.

Recipients can still change delivery preferences in the Posten app.

Restricting delivery outside the door

If you do not want parcels to be left outside the recipients door, you can still reserve against this by adding VAS 1280 (Signature require) in the request. This ensures that shipments not fitting in the mailbox are redirected to pickup points.

Booking API - Decomissioning of services from 01.01.2026

5 December 2025 Important

Bring is commercially discontinuing the below service/country combinations from 01.01.2026, and support in APIs will be taken down shortly thereafter:

  • All outbound Heavy home delivery (+35 kg) services to/in Denmark, and returns from/in Denmark
  • Home Delivery Mailbox (0345) to/in Sweden
  • Non-standard and legacy Courier services (non-4-digit ones) to all countries
  • Express Nordic 09.00 Bulk (0334) to all countries

Booking API - Moving towards more unique error codes

3 November 2025

The Booking API is getting more unique error codes.

Shortly, we’ll add some more unique error codes in the area of parties validation. The new codes will be replacing the generic BOOK-VALIDATION-001 code. Work on improving the error codes is still ongoing, and the initial focus is on providing unique error codes for each failure scenario.

System maintenance

21 October 2025General

On 26 October we will do some system maintenance that will affect our APIs. You might experience some outage between 07:00 and 09:00 Sunday 26 October.

Older updates

Important Update! New TLS certificates on api.bring.com 27th of October 2025

26 September 2025General

Migration from Buypass to Let’s Encrypt TLS Certificates As of 15 September 2025, Buypass has stopped allowing registration of new ACME Account and will stop generating/renewing TLS certificates from 15th October 2025. To ensure continuity, we are migrating all TLS certificates from Buypass to Let´s Encrypt.

As part of this activity:

  • Old Buypass certificates will be removed
  • New Let´s Encrypt certificates will be created

Impact to Customers:

  • If your application does not pin the certificate, no action is required and there will be zero impact.
  • If your application does pin the certificate, you will need to download the new Let´s Encrypt certificate and update your application configuration accordingly.

We recommend reviewing your applications to check whether certificate pinning is in place and preparing for updates if needed.

Booking API - Return mailbox parcel (9650) decommissioning

15 August 2025

On September 1, Bring is decommissioning the service Return mailbox parcel (9650).

We strongly recommend transitioning to start using alternative return services in Norway (9350, 9300) as soon as possible, as booking of 9650 will not be possible shortly after this date.

This is the case for both of the following scenarios:

  • return bookings of 9650
  • combined outbound + return bookings of 3584 and 9650 together, using the returnProduct element

Booking API - New customs format and VOEC support

25 March 2025

The Booking API has gotten a new structure for sending customs information. Along with this comes support for sending VOEC (VAT on E-commerce) on imports to Norway on some services. The existing/old format is now deprecated, and will be phased out. See this page for more information on how to send such information when ordering a shipment.

Booking API - Deprecation of SOAP endpoint

10 May 2024

The SOAP endpoint is now deprecated. Going forward the API will only support application/json and application/xml as Content-Type.

If you are currently relying on the SOAP endpoint of Booking API, you have until 1 October 2024 to migrate to the JSON/XML over HTTP based endpoints.

We will start rate limiting requests to the SOAP endpoint from 1 September 2024, with gradually reduced request rate until 1 October. This means that you will risk rejected requests because of rate limiting after 1 September

Booking API - Changes in weight limit for Pickup Parcel (0340) and Pickup Parcel Bulk (0342) to Denmark

28 February 2024

On February 29th 2024, we are adjusting the weight limit for bookings of Pickup Parcel (0340) and Pickup Parcel Bulk (0342) to Denmark in the Booking API.

What is changing?
Starting from February 29th, all bookings exceeding 20 kg (i.e. where the “weightInKg” field exceeds 20) for Pickup Parcel (0340) and Pickup Parcel Bulk (0342) will be rejected by the Booking API. Despite not being in line with our current terms stating a max weight of 20 kg, these bookings have been accepted in our API and later converted to Home Delivery Parcel 0349 with a special handling fee of 125 DKK. The new max weight of 20 kg aims to increase end customer satisfaction by minimizing the number of bookings that must be converted from Pickup Parcel (0340/0342) to Home Delivery Parcel (0349).

What should you do?
No need to worry! If you need to book parcels weighing over 20 kg, use Home Delivery Parcel (0349), which allows you to send parcels up to 35 kg. If for some reason there is a difference between the weight provided via the Booking API and the weight measured when the parcel reaches our terminal, we will still append a special handling fee and convert to Home Delivery Parcel (0349).

What if I have any questions?
You’re more than welcome to reach out to us via checkoutdk@bring.com. We’re here to assist in case you have any questions about the change, our APIs in general, or how to make the most of Bring in your checkout process.

Booking API - Changes in Pickup Order API format

10 January 2024

On January 10, 2024, we are changing the API request format for pickupDetails in the Pickup Order request. The new Pickup Order request format uses the package, pallet and postContainer field to give information on packages, pallets and postContainers. Each of these has a count field, weightInGrams field and volumeInDm3 field. See Order a pickup for request examples in json/xml.

This enables weight and volume to be given on each goods item level, instead of as a total.

Booking API - Deprecation of SOAP endpoint

22 June 2023

The SOAP endpoint is now deprecated. Going forward the API will only support application/json and application/xml as Content-Type.

If you are currently relying on the SOAP endpoint of Booking API, you have until 1 March 2024 to migrate to the JSON/XML over HTTP based endpoints.

We will start rate limiting requests to the SOAP endpoint from 1 February 2024, with gradually reduced request rate until 1 March. This means that you will risk rejected requests because of rate limiting after 1 February

Booking API - Required recipient mobile number for delivery to locker

Starting 1 February 2023, maximum weight for a pickup order for cargo shipments in Norway will be set to 9999 kg chargeable weight.
